CALL OF MEMBERS:

Cochran – Nothing to report.

Conners – During the recent high water he had a small problem with the Police Department.  When part of Willow Street was closed for Rose Vesper Park it limited the options for removing mobile homes from that street.  There are only two residents in this particular block of Willow Street.  They both are mobile homes.  The original plan was to take the trailers out through Plum Street Park but the gate clearance is not wide enough.  So instead of calling out the Street Department late at night he decided to wait until further reports from the weather bureau about the river.  The mobile home was left in the street.  There were no residences blocked.  Intersections at both ends of this block were open.  The mobile home owner received a citation for blocking the street.  Conners discussed this with the Chief.

Carr said she suggested to the Chief concerns about the campers parking on the streets.  Blocking sight of intersections.  The item will be discussed at Safety/Laws/Rules Committee.

Hilt suggested that perhaps sections of the fence be mobile.

Wolf – Nothing to report.

Mathews – Floyd Henderson, for Officer of the Year for small agencies and Barbara McCane for the Citizens Award have both been chosen.  Congratulations.

He also asked about the time schedule for the portion of George Street being turned into a lawn area.  It should be done as soon as possible to get the project done before Riverdays.

Skeene – Nothing to report.

Hilt – Received a memo from Hammons about the State Auditor tracking a bill to allow townships to merge with other townships.  It seems the state laws about townships are very antiquated and inadequate.

Cochran motioned to adjourn.  Seconded by Conners.
