Trick or Treat
Village of New Richmond  Wednesday October 31st
  6 to 8 PM

We understand there’s been a lot of concern about the weather on Halloween and requests to reschedule.   With more than 2.500 people and over 1,000 households in the Village of New Richmond, there are just too many challenges to make that a reasonable possibility. The main issue is that there is just no effective way to get the word out on such short notice, particularly when you consider it’s not just a matter of notifying parents, but also all of the residents that intend to hand out candy. While social media is an effective tool, it does not reach the majority of our residents and even a media release would have limited effect on short notice.   Less than 300 people are signed up and take advantage of the Nixle notification system.

In addition, we already have multiple police officers scheduled for duty Wednesday and know that many parents have changed their work schedules to accommodate.  Other communities within the New Richmond School district are keeping to the traditional October 31st schedule.  Thank you for your understanding.

Have a safe and happy Halloween!
